Graduation Day, the mini-series that spins off into the new Teen Titans and Outsiders books this summer, don’t look so hot. Oh, it could be great. So far, it’s still better than anything published in “The Titans” in ages. And I give it big time brownie points for offering great intros to each character over a two-page spread. But here’s the thing…

WHY are all of these Young Justice heroes acting like stereotypes of their characters? These kids have been growing and evolving over the last decade, but give them to Judd Winnick and suddenly Superboy is gazing at a centerfold in a business meeting and Impulse is stupidly running around like it’s Impulse #1 all over again. And as soon as a threat appears, both teams leap into the fray as though they haven’t been drilling with the Bat-twins for ages.

I’m not too thrilled so far. It would have been nice to see some thinking heroes in action. Makes me appreciate JSA so much more!
