This is the adaptation of Alan Moore’s comic mini-series about an alliance of turn-of-the-century literary characters (now in the public domain), banding together as a pseudo-supergroup to use their abilities to fight a villain (in the comic it was Fu Manchu, but I’ve heard that it has had to be changed for the movie). The film is adapted by James Robinson, writer of “Starman.”
