So I’m watching the third season premiere episode of Enterprise last night (they yanked our UPN channel here so we have to watch repeats) and, surprise surprise, T’Pol is still in the space bunny role previously filled by 7 of 9 and Deanna Troi. There was a scene that was similar to the infamous “decontamination gel” scene from the pilot but without the deep emotional depth. It featured T’Pol disrobing in order to get a backrub. I’m sorry, I mean a “Vulcan muscle massage” or whatever the heck excuse it was.
The thing that gets me is…it was broadcast TV, but you could see everything! I know UPN is upping the sex on the show (because that is why people watch Star Trek, you know: the hot sex), but this is rapidly becoming a show you couldn’t watch with your kids. Isn’t that kind of an odd twist to the franchise?
