JLA Avengers sales

Newsarama asked retailers “How are the sales on JLA/Avengers #1?” and got some interesting responses.

The feedback is generally positive and sales are high, but many mentioned the debut on a Thursday (due to the holiday) instead of the King of Days, Wednesday, which throws off customer traffic and buying patterns.

Also mentioned was the large bill the comic shops had to pay. Even with the guarantee that they will sell, coming up with the cash for hundreds of prestige format comics is an expensive outlay. (Just think how many comic shops got burned on the last high volume “sure thing”, Dark Knight 2, at $8 cover price.)
