More movie trailers? and other movie comments

There haven’t been too many good movie trailers to link to of late. I don’t know why that is…it must be part of the lull between the summer blockbusters and the winter “let’s release everything entertaining right around the holidays and then dump all the Oscar-caliber films in that last week to qualify” rush. No doubt we’ll be mobbed with good trailers from October through December.

If you’ve already watched the trailers for Lost in Translation and The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra, then the only other recent trailer of interest is this exclusive trailer for the Director’s Cut of Alien. Wow. Best trailer out is for a 25 year old movie. That’s sad.

It looks like Lost in Translation didn’t even place in the box office. My prediction is that this is the kind of movie people will wait to see on DVD. Perhaps it will have the kind of late-discovery fame that the first Austin Powers film found. The other possibility is that this movie hasn’t gotten a wide release yet; it isn’t showing in my town of Rochester or I would have a review for you.

In other movie news, I’ve found sites where you can download audio of Michael Medved’s movie reviews and Ebert and Roeper’s movie reviews. I may add these as permanent links once the new toolbar is working.
