Apparently inspired by the ease with which Wonder Woman and Hawkman were wiped from continuity and reintroduced into the DCU, the Doom Patrol will now be starting over from square one. They appear in JLA #94 as a new team which is not yet allowed to go out into the field.
We’re talking Negative Man, Elasti-Girl, Robotman and the Chief, starting anew. This will effectively turn Beast Boy into the new Wonder Girl whose history gets wiped out, which strikes me as near a travesty. (I still love Robotman and Changeling hunting down the Doom Patrol’s killers in an early issue of New Teen Titans.)
Given all the great stories that will be wiped out by this move, I’m really surprised that DC is doing this.
But if they are starting to relaunch all their old characters and take them back to their halcyon days, can I have Adam Strange? DIBS! I have dibs! I called it first!
