Waitaminute. Statue of Liberty…that was OUR planet!

I’ve finished watching these four clips from The Day After Tomorrow that debuted today and I have to say… I’ve seen all of this before!

The tornadoes…check out Twister. The unnatural events that aren’t supposed to happen to the whiny people who have it easy in Los Angeles: Volcano. The gigantic tidal wave hitting New York? Deep Impact. New York flooded and then icing over due to global warming? A.I.: Artificial Intelligence. Mother nature in revolt? The Core.

A guy stuck in traffic trying to flee New York City but he looks in his mirror and sees a gigantic wave of death heading for him, flinging cars in the air as people futilely run for their lives? That was in Independence Day. By the same director, I might add.

And I seem to recall seeing a destroyed Statue of Liberty once or twice.
