Bob Greenberger invited John Wells to nominate appropriate stories for a new Batman collection, Batman in the 80s, and then he was invited to contribute introductory text.
The stories selected seem to be originalchoices, in that they avoid all the noteworthy stories while providing a good example of style and storytelling of the era.
