This article somewhat responds to many common questions about both short-term and long-term effects of the WGA strike and its end. Most interesting to me was the information regarding this season of television shows and how much more of a “season” we can expect (answer: not all that much, for the most part).

The shows I care about:

The Office: Probably 6-or-so more episodes are possible.
Life: Nothing until the fall (due to good-but-not-stellar ratings).
Pushing Daisies: same fate and reason as “Life”
Heroes: Nothing until the fall (due to high production costs).
Lost: The article doesn’t address it, although hopefully they’ll be able to produce the second half of the season, especially since we’ve only seen 2 of the 8 that are done so far.
Journeyman: The article doesn’t refer to this one, either, but I believe it’s not being picked up again, which is a dirty shame. I really enjoyed this show.

I don’t really care about “24,” but for those who don’t want to read the whole article, they’re going to finish producing the whole season this year in order to meet certain contract agreements, but it won’t air until January 2009. A year without Jack Bauer. Darn.
