  • Big Geek Wad!

Just one week left to go before the drawing of the BIG GEEK WAD! Meanwhile, look for Monitor Duty’s review of “Comic Book: The Movie” later today.

  • Perez’s “Ultimate Nightwing

Vu’s George Perez Fansite has artwork by George Perez showing how he would draw Nightwing if allowed to redesign the costume. Call it “Ultimate Nightwing“. He also has a redesigned Donna Troy.

  • POPEQUOTE, the new game by Milton Bradley

As we gave coverage to the original story by Peggy Noonan that the Pope had commented on Mel Gibson’s new movie, I feel obligated to pass on this follow-up piece. After Peggy passed on the Pope’s short comment “It is as it was” as his reaction after a screening of “The Passion of the Christ,”…

  • No more comments

I am removing the comments field. Apparently there are now spam tools for auto-generating comments and posting links to porn. Great. As it was, I was removing the comments and pushing comment links over to the forum, anyway. This just causes me to do it a few days earlier.

  • Ebert’s Top 10 1967-2003

Roger Ebert’s Top Ten Lists 1967-2003 is a good overview of Ebert’s favorite movies. Worth comparing to “what won the Oscars”…as well as a good overview of the guy’s tastes. (Thanks to ThePopa for the link.)

  • Peter Schickele

I don’t think that this really qualifies for the off-topic category because few things are enjoyed by the well-educated geek more than the music of P.D.Q. Bach…recovered for the modern age by musicolologist Professor Pete Schickele. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of taking a class with Schickele, and I even managed to catch a performance…

  • YES! Batman DVD Box Sets!

So far, all of the Superman/Batman/Justice League animated shows have been released as single DVDs containing a couple episodes each. Finally, they will be releasing Batman box sets. Let’s hope they start doing this for Justice League as well.
