Seven tips for saving Indy 4

Posted on March 20, 2007 by thehutch

Cinematical Seven: Tips For Spielberg and Lucas As They Embark On ‘Indy 4’ Not a bad to-do list, frankly…though the best advice would be to let the series die gracefully and spend the money on something new.

Where do we get our “Cap Was Right” shirts?

Posted on March 13, 2007 by thehutch

Warning: This linked item has profanity galore. And a moderate one in this post. I don’t read Marvel, of course, but it seems that there’s actually an issue of Civil War Frontline wherein some character named Sally Floyd chews out Captain America because he isn’t interested in MySpace or YouTube and thus doesn’t represent America….

Metro Med gallery has been posted

Posted on March 13, 2007 by thehutch

Good news for all of the fans of Metro Med, the hospital for superheroes comic book. I’ve posted a Metro Med gallery on ComicSpace. The gallery includes a few page samples, including some never before seen in color, as well as pinups, character designs, logos and a few examples of my terrible, terrible sketches and…

I’ll have more to “say” on this later, but for now this sums up my problem with “Superman Returns”.

Captain Carrot is coming back

Posted on March 13, 2007 by thehutch

“Captain Carrot and the Final Arc”, a three-issue mini-series, will be published in the fall of 2007. My big question is, will it disregard the atrocious “Whatever Happened To Captain Carrot” that ran in the Teen Titans? It should. That was more a parody of Identity Crisis and other soul-crushing character-destroying comics.

The Dude’s wise words on Captain America’s death

Posted on March 13, 2007 by thehutch

Bob and Brian Interviewed Jeff Bridges on March 8th and asked about his new movie, “Iron Man”. They then asked him if he’d heard about Captain America getting assassinated. Bridges: “He’ll be back, you know. This is the comic book world.” He’s also in “The Amateurs” about a group of midwestern guys who get their…

Comedian/actor Richard Jeni commits suicide

Posted on March 12, 2007 by thehutch

Comedian Richard Jeni, 49, has died of a gunshot wound to the face. Jeni played Jim Carrey’s best friend in “Mask” and later had his own TV show, “Platypus Man” on UPN for one season. If you’re not familiar with Jeni, check out his “Jaws 4” routine. Brilliant stuff. R.I.P.

Comic book movies storming box office

Posted on March 11, 2007 by thehutch

Films based on comic books are still doing very well in Hollywood: ‘300′ Smashes March Opening Record; Spartans Stampede To $70 Mil Weekend; ‘Ghost Rider’ Revs Past $100 Mil Mark I want to see “300”, but I’m wondering if I dare make a trip up to the IMAX for it.

Just a quick note to all of our readers: If you use a javascript blocker on your browser, please allow “google analytics”. I’m hoping to get some more detailed stats on how many visitors we get in a day, what they check out, etc. I’m going to see if the Fanzing Archives really get many…
