Posted on June 24, 2004 by thehutch

The Pulse’s Jennifer M. Contino recaps the history of CrossGen’s financial troubles up to and including the recent filing of Chapter 11 bankruptcy. All of the staff have been laid off. As Bruce detailed, the company owes $3 million in debts. Mark Alessi is trying to get new investors and relaunch the company. You might…

Posted on June 23, 2004 by thehutch

Robert Bavington pointed me to these DC Cartoon Archives and I thought I’d pass along the link. The background sketches are awesome.

New AVP trailer

Posted on June 22, 2004 by thehutch

The new Alien Vs. Predator trailer has been up for a week, but I didn’t notice it because Apple’s trailer site didn’t add it to the regular list.

There’s a Jurassic Park IV?

Posted on June 20, 2004 by thehutch

Jurassic Park IV (2005) is listed in the IMDB. I liked Jurassic Park III…it’s actually significantly better than JP2…but I have to wonder what the point is to doing another one. Not that it couldn’t be excellent, especially if they try something new instead of always going back to the velociraptors.

Metro Med – First 2 pages

Posted on June 19, 2004 by thehutch

This Tuesday Phil Meadows and I submitted our entry for the final round of Small Press Idol voting. The voting has not started yet, probably due to some technological problems involving the Dimestore Site’s relocation to a new server, but in the meantime Phil and I have posted the Metro Med images on the Forum….

Swamp Thing Animated Series Gets DVD Release ICv2 notes that this could be timed to take advantage of the Man-Thing movie. That’s like hanging out with Jughead in order to pick up chicks.

Ray Bradbury wants his title back

Posted on June 19, 2004 by thehutch

Chris Arndt and I were discussing the merits of Ray Bradbury’s contention that Michael Moore’s new film Fahrenheit 9/11 has “stolen” the title of Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451. Bradbury has been trying to get hold of Moore and ask that it be changed for over six months, and Moore just returned his call when it’s…

Dodgeball!

Posted on June 19, 2004 by thehutch

Dodgeball opened on Friday. Has anyone on the staff seen it yet? I’m hoping to make it there soon. One way or another, we should have a review in our MDReviews page. Roger Ebert’s review tells us that many of the best laughs are not in the trailer. Stop the presses! Roger Ebert has said…
