PIXAR breaks free of the mouse!

Posted on January 29, 2004 by thehutch

This has been coming for a while, but I honestly didn’t know that it would happen: Pixar will not have Disney as its distributor after 2006. The final films will be the awesome superhero film “The Incredibles” (from Brad Bird, the genius behind “The Iron Giant”) and one more, probably “Cars.” For Pixar, this is…

Dawn of the Dead is coming!

Posted on January 28, 2004 by thehutch

Dawn of the Dead has a new trailer, and I wish I could see the trailer in a theater. When it gets to the end, you’ll understand why. For a zombie movie, this looks quite well done and I think it will be much better than the overhyped 28 Days (which, I’m sorry, had an…

New “Passion” trailer

Posted on January 28, 2004 by thehutch

The Passion of The Christ has a new trailer combining the best of the two previous trailers. This new one is two minutes long and has a bit more story to it. I will say this: if this music is from the soundtrack, the sales of that alone will pay for the movie!

Hugh Jackman is…KRULL!

Posted on January 28, 2004 by thehutch

Oh, no, wait…he’s Van Helsing! Sorry, the glave threw me. If not for the crummy CGI, this movie would look great. After all…it has Frankenstein, the Wolf-Man and Dracula! Last movie to have all of them together was the execreble “Monster Squad.”

Reviews site

Posted on January 27, 2004 by thehutch

Just a reminder that we have a new Reviews Section which is now getting more and more in the way of content. Yes, I’m still redoing the site’s navigation and eventually it will be much easier to make out those two links under the logo.

Okay, the song is tapped out. Stop it.

Posted on January 27, 2004 by thehutch

I really liked the song “All Star” by Smash Mouth. I loved it when it was featured at the end of “Mystery Men.” I liked it when it was in “Shrek”, but the song was a bit overexposed by then. I couldn’t believe that the song turned up again at the end of “Rat Race”,…

Lots of surprises on the Oscar noms complete list. Check it out: Bill Murray as best actor for “Lost In Translation“, a film I’ve yet to see but you will all remember that even the trailer amazed me many months back. Surprising everyone who said that the acting was good but he wasn’t going to…
