Today is a seriously great day

Posted on December 3, 2003 by thehutch

Today is the Emperor of Days. Comic delivery day is usually the King of Days…but when it’s the comic day where my first comic book is hitting the shelves of comic shops across the country, it is seriously more important than just a measly old King of Days! So let’s do the the Emperor of…

“Dr. Doom, please come pick up your son

Posted on December 2, 2003 by thehutch

Joshua Doom has been arrested. That’s got to be embarrassing for Dr. Doom. They probably paged him at work and told everyone over the intercom that his son was driving drunk…then that “OooOOOOOOOOooooh!” followed by hooting and laughter all over the office as Doom runs to the phone. Having to get ragged on by Kingpin…

Art Supplies

Posted on December 1, 2003 by thehutch

Frank Cho recently passed along a link to an art supply store that has art supplies at 40% off, Curry’s Art Supplies Store. Our own Erik Burnham says that, “Some of their prices are just okay, some are way great.” (Erik, why aren’t you posting this kind of thing here where all of the comic…

Pardoning the turkeys

Posted on December 1, 2003 by thehutch

I never realized that the presidential turkey pardon is pretty much a feel-good hoax since food turkeys don’t live long as petting zoo birds. Frankly, with all due respect to true vegetarians out there, I think the bird’s life has more purpose if it gets eaten rather than living a few more days and then…

Brown Bunny Trailer!

Posted on November 29, 2003 by thehutch

The movie The Brown Bunny got some truly devastating reviews at Cannes. It’s a long boring movie where nothing happens until the end when the ostensible hero gets pleasured by his girlfriend. Now we have the trailer which couldn’t possibly convince anyone to see it. I mean, the trailer is bad! This is a movie…

Hardcover with no price increase!

Posted on November 19, 2003 by thehutch

IDW’s I Am Legend Upgraded to Hardcover with no price increase! Sounds good…except the original price for the paperback was already $35. Still, it’s nice to see that they raised the quality and kept the price the same.
