Archie Comics for January

Posted on September 15, 2003 by thehutch

Since I’m trying to link to more non-DC announcements, here are the Archie comics being released in January. Digests are still only $2.39? Why can’t any of the other companies do this?

ICv2 News has more on Flash TV

Posted on September 15, 2003 by thehutch

The Frog Uncroaks The Flash – One thing I don’t get. Within the same paragraph, it notes that they’re ditching the costume in order to be “more realistic” but then they add that he will travel in time. Obviously, this is all in initial stages and things can change, so I’m withholding judgment.

Are you seeing the banner?

Posted on September 15, 2003 by thehutch

I’ve created a new ad banner promoting Job Wanted #1. However, Phil Meadows insists he cannot see it. What’s more, he tells me he didn’t see the previous ad banners! I have no clue why this is happening, but I have to wonder if everyone else is seeing it or not. Are you seeing an…

Hey Beavis. You can see her boob.

Posted on September 14, 2003 by thehutch

So I’m watching the third season premiere episode of Enterprise last night (they yanked our UPN channel here so we have to watch repeats) and, surprise surprise, T’Pol is still in the space bunny role previously filled by 7 of 9 and Deanna Troi. There was a scene that was similar to the infamous “decontamination…

Lost in Translation

Posted on September 12, 2003 by thehutch

We’re always reading in the movie industry press about how this big movie is vying against that big movie for attention on the same weekend, and how the weekends are packed with too many good movies. That’s certainly true over the summer, when I can’t see nearly all of the good movies I want to…

A CGI Popeye?

Posted on September 12, 2003 by thehutch

Popeye Celebrates 75th with a new CGI 3D animated TV Special. The CGI will be done by the same people who make the Spider-Man series for MTV. I don’t get it. The reason why POPEYE of all characters needs to be done with 3D computer animation escapes me. Although it would be cool to see…

Actor John Ritter Dies at Age 54 Music Legend Johnny Cash Dies at 71 Beware, they always come in threes. Johnny Cash, you’ll remember, was in the running for several MTV Video Awards for his song and video “Hurt”. That video is now even more poignant. As for John Ritter, he played a superhero named…
