Have you ever wished that you could play with all those fun Among Us players, like Disguised Toast, Sykkuno, Valkyrae and that lot? Well, of course, you can’t…unless you’re a full-time gamer with millions of followers. But if you’d like to be as fun and entertaining, nobody’s gate-keeping that!
I’m putting together a crew that will play some evenings, weekends, perhaps for my afternoon show on Friday. You DO need to have Discord (and a mic/headset/whathaveyou). You don’t have to have a streaming show of your own to join. If you do, I’ll be glad to plug your channel, and you’re welcome to stream or record your own end of it. As for me, I’ll be recording to put the best bits on my YouLousyKids channel.
I have a number of host mods with custom roles. Also, we will sometimes do Proximity play.
If you’re interested, just click on my link to The Ballpit (my Discord channel), and in the general room introduce yourself and ask for VIP access. Once you’re given VIP status, you’ll see announcements for the VIP group.
My #1 concern is that you be someone who knows how to control their mouth, as my show is family-friendly. Believe me, I’ve tried just recording and then censoring. I did one last Christmas and it was a horrendous headache involving three days of solid editing!
This part should be obvious, but nevertheless, I’ll say it for official purposes:
- Language!
If you know the Among Us game is live-streamed or recorded for later (and it most likely is), be respectful of the family-friendly channel and keep your swearing to PG (damn, hell, jeez, shucky-darn, jimminy cricket… you can have fun with it). Accidents happen, but at best you’re making editing work for someone and at worst you could be endangering the family-friendly category of the channel on streaming services. Try to act like you’re with your grandma and a crowd of imitative four-year-olds. - Trolls and Hackers
Obvious: Trolls and Hackers are not welcome. Quick ban as soon as discovered. And obviously will lose VIP status.
Rough definitions:
TROLLS are people taking the opportunity of a generous invite to play with us to be hateful, spread um “discord” (not the software), name themselves something obnoxious, and in any other way wreck the fun for everyone.
HACKERS are the folks walking outside the walls of the map, killing everyone at the meeting, or in other ways using hacks to ruin the fun for everyone (see: troll). AND DON’T resort to the “Ha! Guy uses mods but doesn’t want hackers!” argument. We have established host mods that everyone is aware of and are playing together. You are not clever.
People continuing to be a problem (changing names, etc.) will be reported to Discord. - VIP Status
VIP status will be needed to hang out in the Among Us VIP yard and join the Among Us VIP voice channel. Initially, I’ll be giving this out to anyone wanting to join, until we get a good solid crew together. But I reserve the right to remove or withhold this at my discretion. Again: obvious. - Sportsmanship
Be a good sport. Abusing other players is a good way to find out where my trapdoor goes. - Kicks and bans
No one wants to do this, but it should be understood that violation of these rules may bring a kick, a ban, even reporting to Discord, etc. Friends have a little grace/leeway over obvious trolls. - Lousy Rules
The behavior rules for the YouLousyKids Discord channel, the Ballpit, still apply. (Rules are at the Discord channel. I won’t repeat them here.)
