  • Day by Day up for 2005 Weblog Awards!

Chris Muir’s “Day by Day” and Cox & Forkum are in a quite friendly competition to see who gets more votes in The 2005 Weblog Award for Best Humor/Comics Blog. What’s great is the way they are so nice about it. Cox and Forkum did this cartoon on December 9th. Then Chris Muir gets back…

  • Warning: This may ruin your day

Look, anyone who peruses my Amazon wish list or picks up on subtle indicators here or there in my posts can probably detect my political stance by what I read, and there is the occasional post where I may talk about politics. But for the most part, I leave it off this particular site because…

  • Gorgeous “Calvin and Hobbes” collection

Check this out: That is a beautiful collection right there, just released last month. I bet this goes on a LOT of comic book fans’ Christmas lists! (And all you non-Christian comic book fans can just go ahead and order this right now.) UPDATE: You could also get a companion volume: the complete Far Side!

  • Why Pwned?

PvP started something last week where Francis Ottoman was laying into Brent about how much better Francis was at Halo 2 and how he own’s Brent’s butt. “I own you!” or “You’re owned” is slang for being so much better than someone else, and thus Brent is “owned”. Then Francis wore an awareness bracelet, raising…

  • Day By Day tackles Supreme Court ruling

Day By Day by Chris Muir is personalizing the Supreme Court’s recent appalling decision by having Damon lose his house. If you click over to there after today, use the calendar navigation to find the strip for 6/28/05. I love the strip, but Muir has got to get his web guy to change the navigational…

  • How’dedodat?

Day By Day by Chris Muir is one of my daily stops, and I just happened to scroll over the logo today. Try it. See what happens. It’s weirdly cool.

  • Luann tackles topical issues again

Luann is still one of my favorite comic strips, and I wonder if this current strip is going to lead anywhere substantial. Camera phones are one of the greatest threats to privacy that exists today. Conventional cameras? No problem, if someone takes a picture of you in the locker room you take the camera away…

  • Well put!

A great cartoon about the turnout for the 2004 election, which was said to be almost 120 million people across the country. (Here in Minnesota we had a just-shy-of-80% turnout.)

  • Day By Day to return in one month

I really miss reading “Day by Day”. Chris Muir had to halt his daily web comic a couple months ago due to family health problems and his strip’s absence during this political season is profound. Now, Muir informs me that not only with the strip return on December 1st, but books will follow! Congrats, Chris.

  • Well, it’s got Batman!

This comic has Batman and Spoiler, but it’s not what you think: Spoiler
