Chuck Dixon, master of weaponry

This weekend, I plowed through a huge pile of Green Arrow comics from Chuck Dixon’s run on the book. In one of the stories, a Japanese radical group prepares to use a suitcase nuke on an American military base in Japan. The leader recounts how these weapons were first created by the American military, and the “suitcase nuke” is actually a huge backpack.

Turns out all this portrayal is entirely accurate, as I learned just yesterday in The Myth of Suitcase Nukes. (It’s an excerpt from Richard Miniter’s new book “Disinformation” which just got added to my Christmas wish list.)

Way to do your research, Chuck! (Knowing Chuck, he probably didn’t do any research because he knew all this.)
