This weekend, I plowed through a huge pile of Green Arrow comics from Chuck Dixon’s run on the book. In one of the stories, a Japanese radical group prepares to use a suitcase nuke on an American military base in Japan. The leader recounts how these weapons were first created by the American military, and the “suitcase nuke” is actually a huge backpack.
Turns out all this portrayal is entirely accurate, as I learned just yesterday in The Myth of Suitcase Nukes. (It’s an excerpt from Richard Miniter’s new book “Disinformation” which just got added to my Christmas wish list.)
