Mark Steyn reviews Batman Begins

Having pointed you to all of Mark’s past Batman movie reivews, I figured we all wanted to know his take on Batman Begins.

  1. Mark Steyn does not seem to know that Bruce Wayne in the comic books spent his training in Asia being trained by martial artists like Chu Chin Li and Tseunemoto, so it makes sense that the movie shows the process of how he became Batman by showing a portion of his journey in Asia. Plus the comment he wrote about Bruce Wayne doing his Zorro routine is taken from the comic books since the 1920 Douglas Fairbanks silen film “The Mark of Zorro” had an influence on the character,. I do not understand what he mean’t by the movie “lighting up” since it has some dark humor added plus, as for the actors, I do agree that Holmes is the weakest link (It could have been worse Sarah Michelle Gellar was the next canidate) but all the other actors wanted to do a serious job and not be campy like what happened in the Schumacher movies.
Maybe if he had seen the movie in an IMAX theatre, his review may have been different.
