This featurette about “I Robot” is very reassuring in several ways:
* The director of the movie is Alex Proyas, who made the impressive and deep film “Dark City”, one of my personal faves.
* Proyas insists he’s trying to stay away from the “Hollywoodized” movie. Considering this sure looks like a frenzied action film with a huge budget and a big bankable star, I’m hoping that he means that the script is not neglected.
* The film attempts to be very realistic in creating a world 35 years into the future.
* Someday when this is out on DVD, it may make for a great film to double feature with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s “The 6th Day.” They are similar in many ways, only one is about cloning and the other robotics.
