An interview with Seth McFarlane about the Family Guy renewal is available on Planet-FamilyGuy.com (Click for Audio Interview) reveals some details about the new season of Family Guy.
Adult Swim Unleashed has summarized the details:
The main points:
– 35 new episodes in 2005, could premiere on FOX or Adult Swim, but they will likely show on both eventually. Family Guy’s revival was brought on mainly by the DVD sales and the Adult Swim runs.
– The rumored movie is the subject of a three-part episode which has been already written.
– A music CD with a “Night on Las Vegas” standup/singing theme is in the works.
– Tons of new merchandise is planned, including more shirts, action figures, plush toys and possibly a videogame.
– American Dad will be similar to Family Guy but with a more political theme, possibly a satire of current events.
– Some commentaries were removed from the DVD releases by FOX due to their content, though Seth fought it.
Again, a tip o’ the hat for the details goes to Adult Swim Unleashed.
Other details I pulled from the interview:
– Jasper, Brian’s gay cousin, will be back.
– Adam West will return as the insane Mayor Adam West.
– There will be a major Quagmire story.
– The old guy who tries to molest Chris is named Herbert and he will be seen again.
[…] that’s where we’re going to stop, even though, as with The Thing, I’ve barely given you the premise as…
