It’s almost May 15th, which is important for two reasons. One of them concerns the past, the other the future.
The past, because five years ago I married Melinda…and then we left the chapel to get in line for “Phantom Menace.” JUST kidding. (Boy, that would have to be the world’s biggest letdown of a honeymoon, eh?) So I’m leaving Friday for a celebration up at the church where we were married. It’s supposed to be “Lilac Sunday”, just as it was when we were married, but the freezing cold rain here has killed off most of the lilac buds…so now it’s just “Sunday.”
That means I’ll be away from the Internet, unable to post any hysterical last minute warnings that Saturday the 15th is also THE LAST DAY TO VOTE FOR US IN SMALL PRESS IDOL! AGH! We need every vote we can get in order to be sure to make it to the final round. If we make it to the final round, and we win, Dimestore Publications will run our 8-page-story for free as the headliner of their new Mystic Visions Anthology and then enter into talks with us about doing a series. But we need your vote to do it.
Over on our Metro Med site, I have detailed instructions on how to vote. Unfortunately, they’re still a bit too complex for my mother-in-law and other relatives to figure out, so we’re not getting as many votes as we might if the voting process were easier. FORTUNATELY, Dimestore is aware of the problems some people are having with voting and they are testing out a new voting process which looks much easier. Next month, when all finalists have turned in their two pages of comic story for judging, they will be tabulated using this new format. You’ll still need to be a member of the forum in order to vote.
So please…for my anniversary, in lieu of flowers, cards or candy, please vote for us. Then, after voting, please send the flowers, cards and candy anyway. Because I love candy.
[…] that’s where we’re going to stop, even though, as with The Thing, I’ve barely given you the premise as…
