Spider-Man Gets Picked Off Base
Many people were upset by the decision to advertise Spider-Man 2 on the bases of a baseball diamond, as it was an encroachment of commercialism on the purity of the game.
The design was beautiful and subtle, in my humble opinion…so subtle one wonders how it could really have advertised Spidey without people calling attention to it. From any further away than nine inches, it just looks like an aesthetically pleasing red square in the center. But, if they got away with a new space for advertising, it would undoubtedly get used again and it might not be as tasteful.
