Kurt Busiek on JLA and other DC News!

Newsarama has DC’s highlights for October. There’s a lot to talk about:

A new “Rarities” Archive

The 15th Anniversary Arkham Asylum Hardcover

The fate of Ronnie Raymond revealed in Firestorm

Green Lantern: Rebirth #1

John Walsh of America’s Most Wanted appears in Outsiders #17, teaming up with the superheroes to fight child abduction

The American people revolt against the rule of The Authority.

And Kurt Busiek provides Astro City: A Visitor’s Guide. Can’t wait for that one.

BUT, while I’ve posted just inklings of what you can read if you go to the full article, I have to tell you a bit more about one bit of news in particular:

Kurt Busiek writing the JLA.

Folks, after Joe Kelly’s last few years of stinking up the place (and only the uncharacteristically terrific “Burning Martian” storyline worth reading)… after John Byrne’s using JLA as a pilot for Doom Patrol… after, well, pretty much everything since Mark Waid left the book… finally, DC is putting on a writer worthy of the book. Kudos all around. I wish (or perhaps the word is hope) that it was permanent.
