Monitor Duty Exclusive!!!!

One of the best things about running Monitor Duty is that, every so often, I get a tip from someone in the know and no one else on the web has it. I’m happy to say, I’ve got one.

This is a Monitor Duty Exclusive, folks!

What you are about to read is the kind of inside-studio buzz that put sites like “Newsarama” and “Ain’t-It-Cool-News” on the map. And you are going to find it out here on Monitor Duty.com!

Don’t ask me how I got it. I cannot reveal my sources. But this comes from an insider on the lot who I have independently verified as being an actual employee of New Line Cinema with access to some top secret information.

I have no reason to doubt that what I’m about to tell you is true. Not a rumor, not buzz, but fact.

Before I spill the beans, a few caveats:
1) If you repost this on another news site, Monitor Duty.com should be linked and credited in your opening, just as I would do for any news site whose scoop I cited on Monitor Duty.
2) Right below the scoop is the field for sending a Monitor Duty post to a friend. Please use it to send this news to someone who may benefit from the information.

There is a major, and I mean major, film hitting theaters tomorrow.

It’s called “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.”

The secrecy on this movie has been so tight that no one knows about it. There hasn’t been anything on the Internet, no trailers in the theaters, not one dollar spent on advertising on television. The cast members haven’t even done any appearances to promote it!

Showings will start shortly after midnight in many cities. Given that no one knows about this, your odds are very good that you can get right in and have your choice of seats but only if you attend on Wednesday. Go tomorrow, because after the good word-of-mouth gets around those theaters are going to be packed.

ADDENDUM: I’ve just received a note that this is actually not the first movie that this cast has done. Apparently they’re an ensemble group of actors who often perform together, like the troupes from “Romancing the Stone” and “A Fish Called Wanda.”

You may have to do some hunting through rare DVD piles or look on eBay to find these earlier works, as they must have gone straight to video. I certainly haven’t heard of “Fellowship of the Ring” or “The Two Towers” before. I guess they were sleeper hits that caught on later.

Anyway…please spread the word about this “Revenge of the King” movie that’s opening tomorrow. Again, you can use the handy form below to e-mail all of your friends who thrill to the latest movie insider buzz. Don’t forget that it was Monitor Duty that brought you this exclusive report!
