Okay, technically he’s only Lieutenant Gordon, but Gary Oldman will play James Gordon in the new Batman movie, now titled Batman Begins.

I’m getting the definite vibe here that this movie isn’t so much a prequel to the other films as a new start, which is fine with me. After all, in 1989’s Batman, Batman WAS just beginning his career and Commissioner Gordon was a fat old guy who’d never seen Batman before, so this Year One stuff can’t be too much earlier than that.
