Today is, of course, 9-11. Or “Patriot Day”, if you will. (Ugh, what a generic, inadequate and totally inappropriate name. Why not “Attack on America Day”?) Aside from flying my flag at half-staff, wearing a shirt with a little flag and watching some of the ceremonies, I don’t plan to do anything today. At least, not with Monitor Duty. I know you all don’t come here to read my political views (which I only reveal in relation to comic stories of a political nature) and it is my hope that MD will be approachable to all audiences.
But I would like to share a few of the interesting editorial cartoons I was looking at. Gary Varvel certainly captures the mood I’m in. Michael Ramirez may have been investigated by the Secret Service for a cartoon that showed the President being “assassinated” by politics, but he’s still not pulling any punches. But I think the best one is from Cox & Forkum.
