Maybe this isn’t the best news piece title?

We’ve mentioned this subject before, but I’d like to comment on the way this news story is written: “Kim Jong-Il becomes an unlikely hero of Japanese manga”

I don’t know why this is the title of the piece. I was getting extremely angry reading it because of its use of the word “hero.” I thought this was a book praising the dictator of North Korea. You have to delve into the piece before you find out that the book features a great deal of dirt on Jong-Il’s crimes. In other words, the report for AFP uses the term “hero” not as a judgment of good works but synonymous with “main character”. And perhaps because outside Asia comic books are interpreted as only being about superheroes, so anyone in a comic book is a hero.

But the main thing I wanted to point out: this book is selling 250,000 copies and climbing. That sure puts JLA vs. Avengers to shame!
