This isn’t really a news item. If anything, it’s a bleg prompted by the earlier post about Super Friends. (That’s using your “weblog” to “beg” = “bleg”)
For years, Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Pops have been putting out great albums for us lovers of soundtracks, like The Big Picture, The Great Fantasy Adventure Album and Star Trek: The Astral Symphony. (All are highly recommended, by the way.)
I wonder why they haven’t done an album devoted to superhero music. Frankly, they could do a double album and not capture all of the good theme songs. In the meantime, we can always buy albums like Sci-Fi’s Greatest Hits, Vol. 4: Defenders Of Justice…but I long to hear the great superhero themes redone by a symphony orchestra instead of repackaged by the TVToons group. (Or am I the only one who longs to hear the Super Friends theme song in full stereo?)
So…anyone out there able to slip a note to Erich Kunzel?
