Kurt Busiek’s mid-1980 series “The Liberty Project” is getting rereleased as a trade paperback that collects all nine issues. Artist James Fry is creating a new cover for the trade. The Liberty Project was originally published by Eclipse Comics and is now being published by About Comics, but it is creator-owned so that Kurt and James will see royalties from the book. The series is about a group of supervillains who are granted parole if they will work as government-sanctioned superheroes. (It sounds a bit like Suicide Squad, although S.S. was a covert ops team.)
