The Complete list of DC #1s

Okay, this is kind of a cheat on my part in order to hit my “post every day in June” vow.  A list of the total rollout.

An Updatable List Of The 52 DC Titles For September

I’ll have more detailed reactions, but for now I’m holding my tongue.  The world doesn’t need one more griping fanboy on the Internet.  Not today.  I will only say the following:

  • A bunch of these will be very short runs.  (That’s not exactly going out on a limb, obviously.)  If Red Lanterns, Frankenstein: Agent of SHADE and I, Vampire last a year, I’ll be surprised.
  • Remember when Wonder Woman and Superman (Adventures of Superman) reverted to their Golden Age numbering because the bloom was off the rose of their 1980s relaunches?  Yeah, you only get a brief thrill from a “New #1”, and then you’re stuck with a book with low numbering instead of the milestones you could be reaching.  This latest round will be even shorter.  There is NO WAY DC will not be celebrating the #1000 issues of Action and Detective.  I will bet $100, and there isn’t a single person reading this who would take that bet.
  • Ted Kord and Ralph and Sue Dibny are still dead.  And if they weren’t, they’d probably be totally revamped in a way that I’d despise, so they’re the lucky ones.
