Apple Movie Trailers: Legion
Legion looks very bizarre. I’m tempted to do that David Spade “I liked it the first time I saw it…when it was called The Prophecy!” except I didn’t like The Prophecy. It looks to be yet another post-religious film with little understanding of doctrine aside from what it can use to tell the story it…

Beautiful new Tron Legacy trailer
Actually, this is billed as an SFX test, but this trailer is amazing. Bruce Boxleitner is in this, too! Excellent. Here’s a point for discussion: I actually appreciate trailers like this, featuring a single exciting scene to get your curiosity, rather than the rapid flashing Blipverts of dozens of moments from the movie.

R.I.P. John Hughes (Updated)
Here’s the first celebrity death in a long time that has truly hit me hard: John Hughes, writer, director, producer, is dead at 59 of a heart attack. I Am Wall*E
The audio for the “I Am Legend” trailer synchs up beautifully with the trailer for “Wall*E”! No edits! This is just amazing to watch.

Green Lantern: Best Fan-Made trailer ever?
Best Fan-Made trailer ever? You be the judge. I wish it were real. Even as I recognize most of the footage and music used in it, I still got goosebumps as if I was watching a real trailer in a theater. Just…astounding!

6 Islands of Horror — No, Real Islands!
I hate Cracked.com. Mostly because it’s an addictive site that can eat up productivity like no one’s business. Just one list after another. They have some very witty writers, although their unedited nature with swear words in every article, sub-heading and very often even page titles makes it a bit hard for me to take.…

Why isn’t THIS the Star Wars Prequel?
Erik’s right. This is a four-minute ad for a Star Wars video game and it is way better than the entire set of prequels that George Lucas directed. Is is more atmospheric, more intense, and the direction is better. (The Sith Lords all lighting up their sabers is amazing.) I know it’s all CGI, but…

Up 3-D
Sorry, folks, I’ve been away for a few days. It was my wife’s birthday; she just turned the same age as me, which means next year when I’m forty I’ll be older than her. As a late birthday present, we’re going to see “Up” in 3-D tonight. I’m sure most of you don’t need a…
